Peer Review Procedure
- 1.On receipt, the editorial board carries out an initial assessment and assigns the manuscript to two reviewers with recent publications in the relevant field.
- 2.Review is conducted confidentially and on a blind basis: reviewers know the author's identity, but the author does not know who is reviewing the manuscript.
- 3.Reviewers are given up to one month to complete their assessment.
- 4.Reviewers evaluate thematic fit with the journal's scope, currency with recent scholarship, clarity of presentation, whether publication is warranted, and provide detailed written feedback.
- 5.Each reviewer completes a formal review form, concluding with a recommendation to accept, revise, or reject the manuscript.
- 6.Authors are notified of the outcome through an editorial cover letter. Reviewer anonymity may be waived in cases involving suspected plagiarism or data falsification, where direct correspondence may be necessary.
- 7.Where revisions are requested, authors have one month to resubmit; manuscripts not returned within three months are removed from the publication schedule.
- 8.Where a manuscript is rejected, the author receives the reviewers' reasoning.
- 9.Where a manuscript is accepted, the author is notified along with an expected publication timeline.
- 10.Completed reviews are retained on file for five years.
Review Ethics
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively, on their scholarly merits.
- Maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
- Keep critique substantive and professional in tone.
- Decline the assignment when unqualified to assess the manuscript, or when a conflict of interest is identified.
- Final authority over publication decisions rests with the editorial board.
