Copyright and License

Copyright relations between authors and the journal are governed by Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. ZRU-42 of 20 July 2006 "On Copyright and Related Rights" (as amended), together with the international treaties to which the Republic of Uzbekistan is a party, including the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works.

Moral Rights

The right of authorship, the right to be named as author, and the right to protect the work against distortion liable to harm the author's honour or reputation belong to the author in perpetuity and cannot be transferred. These rights cannot be assigned to the journal under any circumstances, including under the License Agreement described below: under the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, any agreement by which an author purports to waive them is void.

Retention of Copyright

Authors retain full exclusive property rights in their work. Upon submission, authors agree to comply with the journal's editorial and publication ethics policies and to provide a signed Author's Undertaking confirming that the manuscript was created by the author(s) themselves, is original, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

License Agreement

Once a manuscript is accepted, the author and the journal enter into a License Agreement under a simple, non-exclusive licence that grants the journal the right of first publication without transferring exclusive rights. Authors remain free to:

• —use the article's content for research and teaching purposes;
• —post the published version in institutional repositories, on personal webpages, and on non-commercial platforms;
• —enter into separate non-exclusive distribution arrangements — provided that the original publication in Anthropology Journal is acknowledged.

Licensing Terms

All published materials are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence:

• —free access to read, copy, forward, save, translate, and use the material — for non-commercial purposes only;
• —attribution and a reference to the original publication in Anthropology Journal are required;
• —any changes made through translation or adaptation must be clearly indicated.

Commercial use without the author's written permission is prohibited; such requests should be directed to the author or to the editorial office.

Term of Protection

The author's moral rights are protected in perpetuity. Exclusive property rights last for the author's lifetime and for fifty years starting from the year following the author's death, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Copyright and Related Rights."
