About the Journal
Anthropology Journal is an international peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to current research in cultural, social, biological, and linguistic anthropology, together with closely related humanities and natural-science disciplines.
The journal publishes original research articles, review essays, field reports, and book reviews, and is aimed at scholars working across Central Asia and beyond, offering a shared platform for anthropological research and debate.
Focus and Scope
- Cultural & Social Anthropology — ethnographic studies and theoretical work on kinship, ritual, politics, and everyday life.
- Archaeology — material culture and the human past, from excavation reports to long-term interpretive synthesis.
- Biological Anthropology — human evolution, primatology, and the biology of adaptation across populations.
- Linguistic Anthropology — language as social practice: meaning, power, and identity in speech and text.
Peer Review Process
Every submission undergoes mandatory blind peer review by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. The decision to publish is made by the editorial board on the basis of the reviewers' recommendations.

Published quarterly in English, Russian, and Uzbek.
